Live Voice Chat
Have a real-time spoken conversation with the AI β no typing required.
Overview
Live Voice Chat turns Chat Everywhere into a two-way voice conversation. You speak, the AI listens, and it responds with natural-sounding speech. The back-and-forth feels like a phone call β low latency, no buttons to press between turns, and responses that come through in the same language you speak.
This is a separate mode from the regular text chat. It uses a real-time AI model built specifically for conversational voice interaction rather than the standard text model.
How to Start
- Click the Voice Chat button in the chat interface. It looks like a microphone or phone icon.
- Your browser will ask for microphone permission. Click Allow.
- Start speaking. You do not need to press anything between turns β the AI detects when you have finished and responds automatically.
- When you are done, click the stop button to end the session.
That is the full flow. There are no push-to-talk controls or manual transcript submissions. Just speak naturally.
How It Works
Live Voice Chat uses voice activity detection to tell when you have stopped speaking. When you pause, the AI processes what you said and begins its spoken response within a second or two.
While the conversation is happening, your speech is transcribed to text in the background. This lets the AI understand what you said and lets you review the conversation as a text log if needed.
The AI responds in whatever language you speak to it. Switch languages mid-conversation if you want β the AI will follow.
Best Practices
A few habits that make the experience smoother:
- Use Live Voice Chat in a quiet environment. Background noise affects speech recognition accuracy.
- Speak clearly at a normal pace. You do not need to slow down or exaggerate your pronunciation.
- It works best for conversational exchanges: quick questions, brainstorming out loud, thinking through a problem, or casual back-and-forth. For tasks that require precise formatting or long written output, the regular AI Chat is a better fit.
Who Can Use This
Live Voice Chat is available on the Ultra plan only. It is not available on Free or Pro.
Common Questions
Does Live Voice Chat work on mobile? Yes, it works on mobile browsers as long as your browser supports microphone access and you grant the required permission. For the best experience, use a current version of Chrome or Safari.
What if the AI mishears something I said? The transcript shown in the conversation reflects what the AI understood. If it got something wrong, you can simply correct it in your next spoken turn β say βI actually meantβ¦β and continue. You can also switch to typing a correction if needed.
Which languages are supported? The AI responds in whatever language you speak to it. Most major languages are supported for both speech recognition and voice output. If recognition quality is low for a particular language, speaking more slowly and clearly usually helps.
