YouTube Analyzer

Paste a YouTube link and ask the AI anything about the video.

Overview

YouTube Analyzer lets you drop a YouTube URL into any conversation and immediately start asking questions about the video. The AI uses Google Gemini’s multimodal video understanding to analyze the actual video content — not just a transcript — so it can answer questions about visuals, structure, tone, and specific moments in the video.

You can get a quick summary, pull out key points, ask follow-up questions, or build a study guide — all without watching the video yourself.

YouTube Analyzer is available on Pro and Ultra plans. It is not available on the Free plan.

How to Use

  1. Open a conversation in AI Chat.
  2. Paste the YouTube URL into your message. You can include a question in the same message, or just paste the URL on its own.
  3. If you only paste the URL, the AI will automatically summarize the video to get you started.
  4. Ask follow-up questions about the same video in the same conversation. The AI keeps the video in context throughout the chat.

Here are some example prompts to get the most out of YouTube Analyzer:

  • “What did they say about pricing?”
  • “List every tip mentioned in the video.”
  • “What examples did they use to explain the concept?”

  • “Write five quiz questions based on the content.”
  • “What vocabulary or terms are introduced?”

Critical thinking and analysis

  • “What are the strongest and weakest points in the argument?”
  • “Suggest counter-arguments to the claims made.”
  • “How does this compare to the standard approach in this field?”

Who Can Use This

YouTube Analyzer is available on Pro and Ultra plans. Free plan users cannot access this feature.

Common Questions

Can it analyze long videos? Yes. Google Gemini’s video understanding is designed to handle long-form content. Videos ranging from a few minutes to over an hour can be analyzed. Very long videos may take a moment to process before the AI responds.

Does the video need captions or subtitles? No. The analysis is not based on captions — it uses direct video understanding. Videos without captions or in languages other than English can still be analyzed, though results may vary based on audio clarity and content complexity.

What if the video is private or age-restricted? The AI can only analyze publicly accessible videos. Private, unlisted, or age-restricted videos that require sign-in cannot be analyzed.
